Barnados Cheque_Presentation

Cubs at the 1st Bishopston (Monday Pack) have made a huge difference to disadvantaged young people by raising an incredible £586.60  for the children's charity Barnardos by undertaking a 'swimathon' at the Dolphin Swimming pool in Filton.  16 Cub Scouts took part in the hour long session, and between them, they managed to swim an incredible 782 lengths - the equivalent of 19.55km!  They presented a cheque to Barnardos charity fundraiser Claire Boston at a recent pack night.

WELL DONE CUBS!

Vacancy - District Explorer Scout Commissioner

There is a vacancy for an Explorer Scout Commissioner to carry on the great work that he has done in developing the section.  This is an important management role in the district, with responsibility for :

1) managing the dedicated team of Explorer Scout Leaders across our 6 units

2) coordinating district activities where units participate together

3) developing the section, to ensure that there is a place for everybody who wants to join

Explorer scouts in Cabot has grown hugely over the last couple of years, and this is an opportunity to be part of that success, and to continue the growth into the future.  The right person for the job would be someone who has the energy and drive to see the section keep growing, management skills, and an affinity for the explorer scout age group (14-18).

To find out more about the role, or to suggest somebody who you think could be our next DESC, please contact Isabelle Mills for an informal chat.
