Scouts from the 1st Bishopston took part in a gorge walking trip in the Brecon Beacons thanks to money from the Cabot Adventure Fund. The fund uses a windfall received by the district to fund adventurous activities for members. You can find out more here. On the 28th August, Cabot teamed up with Brunel district (our neighbours on the the other side of the Gloucester Road) to host a recruitment day at Blaise Castle Park. We brought the association's mobile display unit to Bristol for the day, and talked to hundreds of people, generating dome fantastic positive images of Scouting, and certainly picking up a few new members along the way. Many thanks to everyone who came along and helped to make the day a success. You can see some photos of the day courtesy of Brunel district here (external site). |

Kay Shuttleworth who is the Scout Leader at 227th said 'We had a great time and I was very proud of the young peoples efforts; particularly our youngest Scout Humza. As these pictures show, the young people enjoyed the adventure and from the top of Broadway Tower could see 13 counties.

Beavers from across the district enjoyed a great fun day on Saturday 27th March. The theme of the day was "senses", and activities included making noise makers, food tasting and a visit from Gus the guide dog, all rounded off with a campfire. You can see some photos of the day by clicking here. |
